Participants in the Warrior Challenge international military tournament will be awarded Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the specialized training complex „Tsrancha“, the Joint Special Operations Command said.
Six teams are participating in the tournament: Tennessee National Guard (USA), Multinational Battalion Combat Team, Joint Special Operations Command, Army, Air Force, Navy.
The award ceremony will be attended by Deputy Chief of Defence Major General Mikhail Popov, Brigadier General Trent Scates of the Tennessee National Guard, the commander and representatives of the multinational battalion battle group, commanders of the military formations participating in the tournament, representatives of the U.S. Embassy and senior Ministry of Defence staff.
A presentation will be given on the conditions and conduct of the military tournament, and awards will be presented to the champions in the various disciplines.
The tournament is part of the events marking the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Department of Defence’s partnership programme with the Tennessee National Guard.
Bulgaria is one of the first 13 countries out of 92 included in the State Partnership Program. The partnership of the Bulgarian Ministry of Defence with the Tennessee National Guard was initiated by the US National Guard Bureau in 1993 and developed as part of the bilateral military cooperation between Bulgaria and the United States. It encompasses a wide range of activities, including bilateral and multinational training at home and abroad, as well as humanitarian support in various regions of Bulgaria, according to the Ministry of Defence website.
