Caretaker Tourism Minister Ilin Dimitrov told BTA Sunday that the top priority of his team is to make sure the tourist season goes well. “We’re at the peak of the summer season when we have the most tourists, and we need to make sure it goes well. We must do everything we can to ensure that it runs smoothly – that is the number one priority”.
He attended the closing concert of the 12th edition of the National Folklore Festival in the mountain town of Koprivshtitsa.
He said that there are “acute problems that need to be addressed as a matter of priority” and that his team must “finish things that have been started “. He mentioned as “acute problems” the control over the programme for providing humanitarian aid for refugees, for which a lot of complaints are coming in; the grading of restaurants and hotels, which is lagging behind; and the need to make sure the tourist season goes smoothly in the conditions of COVID.
More details about those will be announced at a news briefing on Tuesday, Dimitrov said.
