The total financial resources in the Silver Fund (State Fund for Guaranteeing the Stability of the State Pension System) grew by nearly 7% in 2024, year-on-year, according to Finance Ministry data release on Friday. By end-December 2024, the Fund’s assets amounted to BGN 4.169 billion.
Compared to the end of the previous year, 2023, the amount increased by just over BGN 265 million. For reference, by the end of December 2023, the fund’s assets stood at BGN 3.904 billion.
In December 2024, the fund’s resources decreased by 2.5%, month-on-month, or about BGN 110 million, compared to the previous month of November. As of December 31, 2024, interest accrued on the fund’s resources amounted to BGN 119.94 million.
The Silver Fund’s assets are held in a deposit at the Bulgarian National Bank.
