State Agency for Refugees (SAR) Chair Mariana Tosheva and Deputy Chair Dimitar Kirov conferred here on Wednesday with Haskovo Regional Governor Minko Angelov, the Regional Administration said in a press release.
Among other things, they discussed the condition of the migrant accommodation facilities in the region: the Transit Centre in Pastrogor village and the Registration and Reception Centre in Harmanli.
According to the SAR officials, the Pastrogor centre is in a good condition, but part of the premises in the Harmanli centre need to be overhauled. Currently, 650 persons are accommodated in Harmanli, and the stay or migrants in Pastrogor averages approximately 10 days, Kirov said.
The SAR representatives said that they were in constant touch with the health authorities and all migrants at the centres in Haskovo Region are tested for COVID-19 and parasitic diseases. The State Agency also maintains communication with the Bulgarian Red Cross and other competent institutions for the purpose of improving the conditions at the migrant accommodation centres in the region.
