In the fourth quarter of 2022, the seasonally adjusted general government deficit to GDP ratio stood at 4.5% in the EU and at 4.7% in the euro area, Eurostat reported on Friday.
In the last quarter of 2022, Bulgaria registered a budget surplus of 0.9% of GDP, compared to a budget deficit of 5.1% of GDP in the third quarter, Eurostat said.
Increases in the deficits compared to the third quarter of 2022 were observed for the EU and the euro area, due to stronger increases in total expenditure than in total revenue.
