Bulgarian caretaker Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov took part in a meeting of foreign ministers of the Berlin Process countries at the invitation of his German counterpart Annalena Berbock, his ministry said in a press release. The forum in Berlin highlighted successes in the field of the common regional market, youth work and reconciliation projects, but also to draw attention to the need to strengthen good neighbourly ties in the process of European integration.
Addressing the event, Kondov underlined the importance of good neighbourly relations and the principle of taking into account one’s own merits in the EU accession process. He highlighted Bulgaria’s efforts on connectivity as a factor in strengthening the EU as a geopolitical actor. Kondov also highlighted the importance of the regional market as a mechanism to promote understanding and rapprochement with the EU.
