In the Taraclia region and across Moldova, there is currently no Bulgarian-language print publication, which is a significant loss for the Bulgarian community, said Aleksandra Voinskaya, Editor-in-Chief of the Svet newspaper in Taraclia, on Thursday during the presentation of the January issue dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the first edition of LIK magazine.
The event was held as an online conference, linking all press clubs in Bulgaria and abroad, including the one in Taraclia, Moldova.
Voinskaya said that a magazine like LIK, which provides news, articles, and analyses on various contemporary issues concerning Bulgarians in Moldova, is something lots of people aspire to have.
She added that such a publication could serve as an important connection between Bulgarians in Moldova and their homeland, Bulgaria, while also helping to preserve their cultural identity.
At a series of events on Thursday, BTA unveiled the January edition of its LIK magazine for art and culture. It is titled "LIK at 60″ and celebrates the anniversary of the debut issue of 1965.
