Caretaker Prime Minister Galab Donev distributed among the four deputy prime ministers the functions for coordinating the government’s general policy and interaction with the bodies of the executive power at the Council of Ministers, the government press service said.
Deputy Prime Minister for Public Order and Security and Minister of Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev will coordinate the work of the Ministers of Defence, Justice and e-Government. The Deputy Prime Minister will carry out the government’s interaction with the State Commission on Information Security, the State Agency for Road Safety, the State Reserve and Wartime Stocks State Agency, the State Agency for Refugees and the Archives State Agency.
Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policies and Minister of Transport and Communications Hristo Alexiev will coordinate the work of the Ministers of Regional Development and Public Works, Economy and Industry, Innovation and Growth, Tourism, Energy, Environment and Water, and Agriculture. The Deputy Prime Minister’s portfolio includes the State Agency for Metrological and Technical Surveillance, the Commodity Exchanges and Wholesale Markets State Commission, the Agency for Public Enterprises and Control, the Nuclear Regulatory Agency, and the Patent Office.
Deputy Prime Minister for Social Policies and Minister of Labour and Social Policy Lazar Lazarov will coordinate the work of the Ministers of Education and Science, Culture, Youth and Sports and Health. The Deputy Prime Minister will carry out the government’s interaction with the National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency, the National Agency for Vocational Education and Training and the State Agency for Child Protection.
The National Statistical Institute is in the department of the Deputy Prime Minister for European funds, Atanas Pekanov.
Prime Minister Galab Donev will personally supervise the activities of the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the State Intelligence Agency, State Agency for National Security and State Agency for Technical Operations.
