The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,233,760, after 1,651 tests identified 290 new infections on Sunday, of which 71.03% were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/ on Monday. The test positivity rate now stands at 17.57%.
Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 85 positive tests, followed by Burgas Region with 31 cases and Varna Region with 30.
The active cases are 16,297. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 990, including 49 in intensive care. Of the 30 new hospital admissions, 90% were not vaccinated.
Another 86 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,179,919.
Three fatalities were reported (one of them unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 37,544.
With 65 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,511,467 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,067,830 people are fully vaccinated, and 58,249 have received a second booster.
