The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,235,510, after 8,455 tests identified 1,750 new infections on Monday, 65.9% of which were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 20.7%.
Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 344 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 187 and Stara Zagora Region with 136.
The active cases are 14,853. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 940, including 45 in intensive care. Of the 207 new hospital admissions, 77.8% were not vaccinated.
Another 3,178 COVID-19 patients recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,183,097.
Sixteen fatalities were reported (93.75% of them unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 37,560.
With 1,149 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,512,614 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,068,022 people are fully vaccinated, and 857,962 have received a booster jab (including 58,662 reboostered).
