The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,214,925, after 6,228 tests identified 1,496 new infections on Thursday, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 24.02%.
Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 353 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 128 cases and Burgas Region with 114.
The active cases are 26,319. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 1,066, including 56 in intensive care. Of the 148 new hospital admissions, 73% were not vaccinated.
The infected medical staff have reached 25,222.
Another 1,755 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,151,182.
Four fatalities was reported (50% unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 37,424.
With 3,535 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,485,406 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,065,448 people are fully vaccinated, and 834,571 have received a booster jab (including 45,061 reboostered).
