Bulgarian snowboarder Tervel Zamfirov won the Snowboarding Men’s Parallel Giant Slalom event at the 2025 Winter World University Games in Bardonecchia, Italy, on Tuesday. Another Bulgarian, Alexander Krashniak, finished 4th.
Zamfirov shared the podium with Junho Ma from South Korea, who finished 0.27 seconds behind Zamfirov at the final, and Fabian Lantschner from Italy, who was faster than Krashniak in the race for bronze.
On his way to the gold, the Bulgarian also raced against Michal Wilk from Poland and Daichi Shimizu from Japan. This is yet another success for the 19-year-old Zamfirov, who placed fourth at the FIS Snowboard World Cup series in Bansko, Southwest Bulgaria, on January 18.
On Wednesday, the two Bulgarians are scheduled to compete again in the Parallel Slalom event.
