There is heavy outbound truck traffic at the Kapitan Andreevo and Lesovo checkpoints on the Bulgarian-Turkish border, the Border Police said on their website early Tuesday morning.
Passage through the Malko Tarnovo checkpoint is temporarily limited to one lane due to reconstruction work.
Traffic is normal at all checkpoints on Bulgaria’s borders with the Republic of North Macedonia and Serbia.
Due to increased travel through the Rudozem – Xanthi checkpoint, the Border Police reported that construction work is underway on the Greek side. Greek authorities have placed signs indicating that the area is a construction site, restricting access to outsiders.
Only passenger cars and minibuses of up to 3.5 tonnes are allowed to pass through the Makaza, Zlatograd, and Ivaylovgrad border checkpoints.
A temporary traffic organization has been introduced on the Bulgarian section of the Danube Bridge border checkpoint with Romania near Ruse due to repairs.
